Located in Long Island City, this project for the Yeh family pushed the limits of what’s possible in vertical design. The Zen Space Makers team created a triple-decker loft system that turned a small urban room into a functional, architectural feature. Each level was designed for safety, comfort, and creativity, forming a striking yet balanced centrepiece.
David Yeh and his family needed a smart spatial solution for their children that combined sleeping, storage, and play within a minimal footprint. The goal was to create something both practical and imaginative — a design that maximised ceiling height while maintaining aesthetic harmony.

To utilise the vertical space effectively, the team designed a three-level loft bed structure that stacked gracefully, like a miniature skyscraper. Each tier was handcrafted with precise measurements to ensure safety, proportion, and comfort. The staircase served dual purposes — easy access and hidden storage — while the custom cabinetry tied the design together seamlessly.
This project showcases the workshop’s engineering precision and fine joinery. Built from high-quality hardwood and premium-grade panels, each piece was finished with Zen’s signature balance of function and form — minimal, strong, and timeless.
