This queen-size loft bed was handcrafted for Bruce Huang in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. The design balances elegance and utility, combining a staircase, integrated desk, and custom-built storage features within a compact New York apartment.

Bruce wanted a functional layout that could maximise his limited floor space while keeping the warm, natural feel of real hardwood. The goal was to create a cohesive environment for both work and rest without compromising on design quality.

We used our proprietary cherry hardwood inventory to construct the windowsill, railing, and banister, achieving a refined aesthetic that reflects natural warmth. Every component was dado-notched for strength, ensuring long-term stability and durability.
The project features solid cherry hardwood paired with pre-finished cabinet-grade plywood for balance and texture. Attention to joinery, finish, and proportion created a seamless, sculptural feel in the final build.
The final result is a calming, multi-functional loft that enhances both usability and serenity. It captures the essence of Zen design — simplicity, function, and peace in balance.
